Six approx. 15- 1/2" wide X 23" tall Commemorative Facsimile newspapers of the coverage from The New York Times during the Civil War. Each of the six (6) sections are 16 pages - an over sized newspaper format. Each section has fabulous photographs on the first and last pages with full text articles within. LAID-IN is a folded color map (11" x 11") of the Battle of 2nd Manassas, Virginia of 1862. The original soft box holds all the items. The box has a 1" closed tear at bottom and a few creases at flap closure ( by velco). There is no publishing date, only a reference made about McPherson's last book before writing this Introduction.
