A long-running underground paper from Bellingham, Washington, started in 1969 and publishing until 1986. While initially focusing on counterculture, the paper covered politics, environment, women's rights and other issues with a left wing perspective. Some of its writing would serve to influence local politics and policy after their journalism exposed corruption in government or business. This issue with many pieces on local politics and politicians; an article on Ann Arbor as a model community for Bellingham, discussing the Tribal Council and Rainbow People's Party of Ann Arbor; news on the People's Blockade near Seattle that blocked rail lines supplying munitions; an essay on rail hopping; a recipe for making wine, etc. GOOD condition, ex-college library and bearing minor stamping and label to the front cover.
