Adolph Friedrich Erdmann von Menzel (December 8, 1815-February 9, 1905) was a German artist noted for drawings, etchings, and paintings. Along with Caspar David Friedrich, he is considered one of the two most prominent German artists of the 19th century, snd was the most successful artist of his era in Germany. This is the ninth edition. In a calf leather binding with marbled paper boards. There is gilt decoration to the boards and spine and a contrasting label with gilt lettering to the spine. Externally, very smart, with some minor shelfwear only. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally clean and bright with some scattered light foxing. Very Good.
