Artikelbeschreibung des Verkäufers

FIRST EDITION, lightly toned with some spotting to prelims and endleaves, pp. v, [1], 79, [1], 8vo, contemporary presentation binding of full diced red morocco gilt, flat spine with gilt crown stamp in compartments, richly gilt turn ins with marbled endpapers; extremities bumped and the spine ends a little chipped; authorial dedication inscription, very good. He also sings the praises of its location on the banks of the Tees: 'Perhaps no medicated water in Great Britain can boast of greater advantages in situation than this'. In 1829 Lambton built a lavish hotel on the spot, but it failed to prosper and by 1845 the property had been sold for residential use. (Waring 790).…
