Covering Pope John Paul II’s visit to the United States and interviewing Author and Poet Dr. Maya Angelou are highlights in her storied journalistic career. Vele Keyta is a lover of humanity and a student of the world and its diverse cultures. Having visited more than 30 countries on five of the seven world continents, Vele Keyta lived in China for nearly four years and studied abroad in Russia as a requirement to obtain her MBA. She is a graduate of Savannah State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications, and Mercer University, where she earned her MBA. She also is a graduate of the Maynard Institute for Journalism Education's Management Training Program. Vele Keyta lives with her family near Atlanta, Georgia.
