Portrait frontispiece of the author and 26 engraved illustrations throughout all volumes, some page repairs not impacting the text. Year of publication stated as 1822 to the base of all volumes despite Vol V being dated 1821 and Vol VI being dated 1823. Pagination: Vol I 1822, cxliii, 281pp, with 6 illustrations and a frontispiece portrait of Fontaine. Vol II 1822, 388pp, with 6 illustrations. Vol III 1822, xv, [i], 551pp, with 9 illustrations. Boards good condition full polished calf with gilt filet, gilt decoration to the board edges, minor marks and scratches. Page edges good condition all marbled, darkened to the top edge.
