Antiquarian. The Second Edition, Corrected. Two volumes bound in original brown leather boards, well worn, raised banded spines fairly intact but showing wear, remains of gilt lettering on both, volume II is frayed to top of spine , both volumes show signs of age and use chipped, rubbed, scuffed and a little cracxking in places, VOLUME 1 has clean endpapers no inscriptions, the title page reads ' Vol. I In Two Books, Whereof the First treats of Christians in general, their several names, Distinctions, and Degrees of Catechumes, Laity, and Cleargy; the Second Book gives a Particular Account of the several Superior Orders and Offices of the Clergy in the Primitive Church. ' fold-out plan of Ichnographia Templorum Orientalium adjacent to page 148, no inscriptions, ix, 320 pages, Size 7.75 x 4.00 inches. Its companion volume, VOLUME II; title page sets out four sections and states 'Describing the contents it reads 'Giving an Account 1: Of the Inferior Orders of the Ancient Clergy. II: Of the manner of their Elections and Ordinations, and the particular Qualifications of such as were to tbe ordained. III: Of their Privileges, Immunities, and Revenues. IV: Of the serveral Laws relating to their Employment, Life and Conversation. ' These subheading are devided into chapters. No inscriptions. Size 7.75 x 4.00 inches, unpaginated preliminaries, 434 pages, text fully readable, some browning from age but fully readable and tight, in very good condition for age and use. No inscriptions.
