Dale Carlson is the author of dozens of books for young adults and has won numerous awards including three ALA Notable Book Awards, the Christopher Award, YALSA Best Picks, VOYA Honor Book, three New York Public Library Best Books for Teens, three Independent Press Medals, four ForeWord Books of the Year, Junior Literary Guild, and the International Book of the Month Club award. Michael Bower PhD received undergraduate and master’s degrees from Tufts University, a doctorate from Boston University, and a Certificate of Advanced Studies from Harvard University. He has been a school counselor, a director of a “school within a school” for special needs students, director of a school counseling program, and a high school principal. He has taught graduate courses at Leslie University and Boston University. Recently, he was an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the School of Medicine in Yale University and is currently a counselor at the Center for Change in New Haven, Connecticut.
