Gift quality married set in original dust jackets. Deep red cloth covered boards with bright gilt titles, spine ends bumped, tips still sharp. No names, tears, notes, highlighting. All four books come in their uncommon and generally missing original dust wrappers. Hinge papers are fine, endpapers and edges of page blocks show light colored foxing. All four have colored frontispieces complete with foxed tissue guards. First volume is a 10th printing, 1922. It has a crescent shaped chip at the foot of frt gutter that is 1.5" long and 1 1/8" tall, it took the 'Prof' from in front of the author's name at foot of frt panel. There is also a small chip at the head of the spine that is 1/2" x 3/4", and a 1/4" x 1/4" chip at head of frt panel. Second volume is a 6th printing, 1922. It has all 4 corners of both flaps clipped but is otherwise complete without chips or tears. Third volume is a third printing, 1922 that shows a small chip at head of spine 1/2" x 3/4". Fourth volume is a first printing, 1922, and has a complete, un-clipped (and unpriced) dj. The total page count in four vols is 1220.
