Über den Autor: Barbara Levenson has spent much of her life in the criminal justice building in Miami, Florida. She began her legal career as a prosecutor. Later she headed her own law office handling criminal defense and civil rights cases. She was elected to serve as a circuit court judge in Miami-Dade County. She recently retired as a senior judge. Barbara has lived in Miami for 37 years and now spends summer in Quechee, Vermont. She was raised in Central Ohio and in a former career, was the first woman elected to the Columbus, Ohio Board of Education and served as its first woman president. She and her husband bred and showed German shepherd dogs and finished eleven cahmpions in the show ring. The sheperd, Sam, in the Mary Magruder Katz mystery series is based on the mischievous dogs that live with the Levensons.
