The Oviatt Family Utah Pioneers Photo Archive contains 66 black and white portrait photographs of the Oviatt Family and one postcard of Brigham Young from 1942. The black and white portrait photographs are estimated from the late 1800s/early 1900s. The smallest photos measure approximately 2 cm in diameter. The largest photograph is a real photo postcard, measuring 9 cm x 14 cm. Several photographs have backstamps (J. P. Christensen; C. R. Savage). Many have adhered paper or cloth remains to the reverse. There are a total of 67 items in this archive. Black and white portrait photographs (66 photographs) Portrait photographs of Men Card-sized photographs (5 photos) Dime-sized photographs (18 photos) Portrait photographs of Women Card-sized photographs (1 photo) Dime-sized photographs (16 photos) Portrait photographs of babies and children (7 photographs) Portraits of couples (18 photographs) Family portrait photograph [2.5 cm x 3 cm] (1 photograph) Brigham Young postcard 1942 (1 postcard). Ira Oviatt is listed in "Pioneers and Prominent Men of Utah" by Frank Esshom (p. 1081). He was born December 8, 1804, in Rensselaer county, N.Y. Ira Oviatt married Ruth Bennett in 182. They came to Utah October 5, 1851, with the Kelsey company. The family home was in Farmington, Utah. Some photos are identified on the reverse in pen. Those photos include: Uncle Jim; Alphonso Christensen (1895-1940, born in Ephraim, Sanpete, Utah); Grandfather Knapp; Willis Knapp; Cousin Fremon [Freeman] Oviatt "Uncle Larens [Loren] Oviatt's boy"; Freman Oviatt Baby; Freman Oviatt and (?) Harmon; Freman Oviatt; Alice and Freman; "Effie's Man"; Len Dunn; Louise Oviatt Cotterell "Judie's sister"; Willie Jenkins; Preachers Sharp & Black; Jim Sharp and Anna. One of the unmarked photos appears to be Judith Oviatt (1841-1918), who was born in Kirtland, Lake, Ohio, to Ira A. Oviatt and Ruth Fellows Bennett. She married Albert Knapp. Albert Knapp was a member of the Mormon Battalion. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 58066
