A collection of poetry by the proletarian poet, Leonard Spier, who dedicated to the volume to fellow proletarian poet, writer, editor and publisher Jack Conroy. Some of the poems had been previously published in radical periodicals such as the "Western Worker," "Daily Worker," "Young Worker," "Industrial Democrat," "Rebel Poet," and "Fantasy." Published by Alpress, the short-lived private press operated by Frank Ankenbrand, Jr. in his apartment at 1321 Spruce St. At the time, Ankenbrand was also a radical poet and moved in the same circles as Spier and Conroy. To our knowledge, this was Alpress' only volume of proletarian poetry. Stapled wrappers (7 ¾" x 5 ¼") with cover illustration by Olga Monus; 38 p. Wrappers stained, else a very good copy.
