In fact, at several points the author takes issue with St. Thomas, subjecting certain Thomistic conclusions or premises to critical scrutiny. A notable feature of this scholarly work is the consideration it gives to the influence which ancient and contemporary philosophers had upon the thought of St. Thomas. To teachers and students of philosophy this volume will appeal with special attraction because it is not a repetition of what they already know.
