Inhaltsangabe: Artist Andrei Kushnir’s latest collection of landscapes awakens the senses for a journey through the seasons spent on an idyllic historic property, situated in the hunt country of the northern Virginia Piedmont. Visitors to Valley View Farm are entranced by the astounding peacefulness of the landscape; residents speak of a heartfelt sense of place and home that the property engenders. Kushnir captures their experiences—the sleepiness of winter, the newness of spring, the intensity of summer, and the crisp call of autumn—in paintings such as Evening in the Valley and Gardens of Plenty. His palette of inviting colors offers serenity and transforms the simple act of viewing into an engaging experience . . . like being on the farm.
About the Author: Andrei Kushnir’s landscape paintings reflect his love of the outdoors, particularly those unspoiled places still found near his home in Brookmont, Maryland, close to the Potomac River and C&O Canal. Known as a "New Naturalist," Kushnir has exhibited his plein air oil paintings in more than 50 juried shows in galleries and museums throughout the United States, including the National Gallery of Art and the National Museum of American Art. He is an Official Coast Guard Artist, and a member of The National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, The Washington Society of Landscape Painters, and The Blue Ridge Arts Council. His work is in the public collections of the U.S. Coast Guard, the District of Columbia Commission on Arts and Humanities, and The University Club, Washington, D.C., as well as in numerous private collections around the world. His other fine art catalogues are My River (1999) and American Light 2001 (2001).
