The hardback Manual is in very good condition and would be near-Fine if not for a gilt Dewey number on the spine (same colour as title text), a neat issue sheet tipped-in to the front free end-paper; a few neat numerals to inside front board and a small, unobtrusive blind impressed stamp to title page (no further library markings have been seen). 216pp., clean, soft white paper throughout with no foxing or markings. Appendices and Index. The author and Introduction writer worked at Bermondsey Public Libraries. Seems also to be a primer of sorts in connection with the Library Association (Exam questions included). A period piece of Librarianship and Archival curating. The near-Fine, How to Read Local Archives, is a stapled soft cover, published in 1973, 22pp. (including inner cover text). Profusely illustrated. Clean and bright, no inscription or marking, just a evenly faded spine area and a small College of Education stamp to title page - no other markings present. Classic reference works.
