Panoramic Photo Album Containing 36 Images, Including 10 of the Pan American Exposition in Buffalo, NY, 1901

5" x 10" cloth album (labeled in the back as a "Ward's Album for Unmounted Photographs") with thirty-six 2.25" x 6.75" photographs inserted each side of 18 thick cardstock leaves. A few of the images have some hand-coloring. Leaves were original mounted on cloth stubs, but the cloth has deteriorated and the leaves are now laid in loose. Otherwise very good condition. Ten photographs show scenes at the 1901 Pan-American Exposition -- including the Temple of Music, the Electricity Building, the Mines Building, the Grand Canal, gardens and fountains, parts of the Midway, and an event in the arena involving Native Americans (possible the "sham battle" staged between six Indian tribes and the U.S. Infantry stationed at Bufflo, which took place on the closing day of the Exposition, November 2, 1901). We have not identified the other locations shown, but they are likely in New York or New England and include some lovely images of boaters and houses along a lake shore, one shot of a tennis game, and several beautiful winter scenes showing an icy pond and horse-drawn sleighs.
