Uncommon title. Decorative blue boards with gilt stamping to spine and front cover in the Victorian style. A clean, tight copy with only very minor wear to the outer hinges and corners. Charming woodblock text illustrations throughout. Published when St.Paul was considered the West, it was a major hub for tradesmen and trappers. The history of the city from its beginnings is given in detail with many statistical tables. There is much information about the schools, banks, courts, newspapers, libraries, railroads, city services, and, of course, the people. Valuable for its historical significance.
