A limited edition of this tragic love story set in French Mauritius on the eve of the French Revolution. Featuring a number of engraved plates by Ad Lalauze, including a frontispiece. There is a short biography of Saint Pierre to the front. 'Impression limited to four hundred and thirty-three copies. 190 copies with plates on China paper. Nos 15 to 240. No 184'. With 'Bound for Wm Paterson' stamped to the front pastedown. In a full crushed morocco binding, with marbled endpapers. Externally very good indeed with just some shelfwear. Internally, generally firmly bound, although the front free-endpaper is working loose. Generally bright and clean, with just occasional foxing prominent to first and last few pages. Very Good.
