Ever watched a peacock fan its shimmering train and thought, "I want that in my yard"?
Then found yourself lost in a maze of conflicting online advice?
You're not alone. And this book is designed to help you navigate the journey.
Maybe you've already built a chicken coop and assumed peafowl would be just as simple. Or perhaps you're starting fresh, captivated by the beauty but terrified that your birds will fly away, disturb the neighbors, or fall ill because you missed something crucial.
Welcome to a book that finally treats peafowl with the respect and honesty they deserve. This isn't a generic poultry guide that treats these magnificent birds like oversized chickens. It's a complete, structured system built around what peafowl actually are, semi-wild, intelligent, and uniquely demanding.
Most peafowl advice online is outdated, contradictory, or dangerously wrong. Some sources recommend wading pools that drown chicks and spread disease. Others suggest apple cider vinegar as a worming remedy, it doesn't work. And almost none of them warn you about the toxic plants in your garden that could harm your birds.
What makes this book different is the S.A.F.E. System, a structured framework that takes you from Setup (building the right enclosure) through Action (daily care and feeding) to Feedback (health monitoring) and finally Expansion (breeding, showing, and long-term success). Each chapter builds on the last, guiding you like a knowledgeable friend who's been through it all.
Written in a warm, coaching voice by someone who understands both the beauty and the chaos of these birds, this book normalizes mistakes and celebrates small wins. It's designed to help you feel capable, not pressured.
Inside, you'll discover:

• The truth about the peacock's "mile-long" call, and how to handle it with neighbors
• How to build an enclosure that protects a five-foot train without breaking a single feather?
• The 24% protein rule and why standard chicken feed starves their plumage
• Simple daily inspections designed to help you spot health concerns early
• The worming schedule that works and the garlic myths that don't
• How to breed, incubate, and raise peachicks through their vulnerable first months
• How to prepare a bird for the show ring, even if you never enter?

Whether you're dreaming of your first bird or looking to improve your current flock, this book gives you the knowledge to make good decisions, avoid expensive mistakes, and enjoy these birds for the decades they can live.
The beauty of a peacock in full display isn't just luck. It's earned through preparation, patience, and the right system. This book hands you that system.
