The Penny Cyclopædia published by the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge was a multi-volume encyclopedia edited by George Long and published by Charles Knight alongside the Penny Magazine. CONTENTS AND CONDITION: Hardbound deep brown publishers cloth, covers feature embossed title within wreath and embossed borders. Gilt titles on spines. All Volumes are quite worn with noticeable shelf wear, bumped corners, some are sunned, rubbing and foxing within. Generous use of black and white illustrations/drawings accompanying descriptions. Double columned and without notations or marginalia except as noted below. A number of spines are missing and covers detached.
