Unpaginated, with many accomplished color illustrations, 8vo, yellow cloth with black title; cover with crayon markings pencil marks and stains, with spine re-backed in black. Stains and some small repairs. New York: Macmillan Company, 1930. First edition. A good (-) copy. A boys parents give him a pennywhistle as a present that only plays one note. His quest to find more notes leads him through the jungle, listening to the birds and and animals learning their 'music.' The boy is drawn in a racist style.
