Beschreibung
1935 first American edition, E.P. Dutton and Co. (New York), 5 1/2 x 7 5/8 inches tall green cloth hardcover in facsimile dust jacket, red fingerprints design to covers, red lettering to spine, [6], 280 pp. Slight to moderate soiling, rubbing and edgewear to covers, with fraying to the spine caps. Original dust jacket flaps glued to front and rear pastedowns. Red stamps to front and rear pastedowns and endpapers from Remington Putnam Book Co., one of Baltimore's best-known booksellers from 1910-1986. Two-inch chip to the upper tip of the blank rear free-endpaper. Otherwise, apart from a couple of pages with slight creasing and a couple of pages with slight marginal soiling, a very good copy - clean, bright and unmarked - in a fine color facsimile (copy) dust jacket, which is nicely preserved and displayed in a clear archival Brodart sleeve. ~SP33~ [1.5P] When Dennis Tracy visits his old friend Kenneth Darent he isn't prepared for what he finds - a drunk who is in love with Margorie Browne, a beautiful girl who just happens to be the fiancee of the richest man in town! So when Tracy discovers that Darent has no alibi for the time when the rich man is murdered, he and Margorie come up with an alibi for him, an alibi that puts them in danger of prison - or worse! Perjury has never been so fun - or deadly. Walter (Sydney) Masterman (1876-1946) was an English author of mystery, fantasy, horror and science fiction. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers SP33-0932-13816
