Beschreibung
16 black & white illus. [32] pp. 4to, printed covers & pictorial dust-jacket. Vienna: Galerie Peter Pakesch, 1987. The scarce second version of this exhibition catalogue. Kippenberger (1953-97) was unhappy with the darkness of the printing in the first and had it withdrawn shortly after its publication (full explanation by Koch below). We could track down only the MoMA copy among North American institutions. "[The catalogue] contains the first half of a conversation between Joachim Lottmann (questions) and Michael Krebber (answers) about Martin Kippenberger, continued in Die Reise nach Jerusalem [Going to Jerusalem]. The illustration section shows 14 sculptures from the year 1987. "There are two versions of this catalogue: Peter 2, which was withdrawn shortly after publication because Kippenberger found the printing too dark, and the adjusted reprint, Peter 2-II, which was given a new dustjacket featuring Kippenberger s handwritten corrections. However, the second edition seems rather too pale, since it was simply printed using less black instead of using new setting copies." Koch. In excellent condition. ?
