1899-1901 Tennant and Ward (New York), four 5 x 8 inches tall hardcover volumes, marbled paper-covered boards over blue leather spines and tips, five raised bands and gilt lettering to spines, page edges red, copiously illustrated with black-and-white photographs, drawings and diagrams, [v.1] viii, 425; [v.2] 427-633, 183; [v.3] viii, 185-524; [v.4] 390 pp. (1563 pages total.) Very slight rubbing and edgewear to covers, with very slight sun fading to spines and mild bumping to a couple of tips. Prior owner name /notes in pencil to a couple of margins, easily erased. Otherwise, a very good to near fine set of this uncommon collection of the first 32 issues of this important American photography journal, in splendid half leather binding. Note that this is a heavy and oversized set, so additional postage will be required for international or priority orders. ~VV~ [7.5P] The first 32 issues of The Photo-Miniature, a monthly photography magazine edited by John A. Tennant and published in New York by Tennant and Ward. Each issue covered a single topic, usually in a single article filling most of the issue. The remainder of most issues is then filled with short paragraphs on current events and some adverts. Many issues were illustrated where the topic so required.
