Oblong folio measuring 16"x 10.5". String tied, green leather binder with gilt decorations. Contains 482 black and white photographs with some later color photographs measuring between 4"x 3" and 3"x 3". Some edgewear else near fine with fine photographs. A young couple's travel album to locations around California from the late 1940s through to 1958. The album features a young couple that ventures around California with their friends and family members with pictures of them visiting several forests, picnic areas, and lakes. The couple drives a 1950s deluxe V-8 Club Cabriolet however there are other photographs of classic cars some of which are from the 1920s. Some of the places in California that the couple visited include Cliff House Lodge in Groveland, Yosemite National Park, the Chandelier tree in Leggett, The Thunderbird Hotel in Las Vegas, the Calico Cemetery, Echo Summit, Sequoia National Park, now defunct amusement parks, as well as some later photos with the couple traveling to London and Oxford in the United Kingdom. During these trips the couple can be seen camping out in the woods together. The parents of the woman sometimes travel with the couple as well as the young woman's sister and her family. The woman's sister is seen in several photographs with her husband and children during family events as well. Some Christmas and Halloween pictures are in the album, one of which has the woman's nieces and nephews dressed in costumes. Another photograph shows a tree covered in ornaments and tinsel. The couple does not have any children and seem quite youthful as the visit children's playgrounds and amusement parks together. Most of their visits are to lakes and streams where both of them can be seen donning swimsuits and spending time with friends. There are some pictures of the couple out on row boats in the ocean and fishing out in lakes together, as well as spending their winters skiing. The young woman is also seen playing for a women's baseball team named the "Mainliners". She can be seen with other women wearing full baseball gear and hitting the ball during practice and during a game.
