Oblong octavo measuring 7" x 5". Tan stiff paper boards with printed decorations. Contains 188 gelatin silver black and white toned photographs measuring between 1.5" x 1.5" and 5.5" x 6" with some captions. Fading, edgewear, and chips on the paper spine else very good with near fine photographs, some faded. This photo album is primarily comprised of the Johansen family from the 1920s. Several family photos are in the book but most of the pictures are of the children and babies in the Johansen family. Several photos feature the kids playing together or the babies dressed up and smiling in their carriages. Most of the large family photos have a more serious look to them. However, shots of couples and younger family members feature large smiles and laughing. A couple photos are of a younger girl in the Johansen family at a girl's summer camp. She is seen walking in the woods, playing with friends, and swimming in a lake. Some photos are of different locations, most of which are the family's house and different parts of a cemetery. One photo shows a small child's grave marked as Cecilia M. Johansen. Three small printed pictures are affixed to a page featuring different photos from Denmark, labeled with "Udsigt over gudsø vig," and "Udsigt over huse molle". A couple of photos also feature some snowy scenes of houses and small cities in New York, presumably where the Johansen's lived. An interesting collection of family photos from the 1920s in New York.
