Oblong quarto. Approximately 12" x 7.25". String-tied leather over flexible card wrappers with wallet-style flap with snaps. Small tears and rubbing at the extremities, else near fine. Contains approximately 156 gelatin silver photographs. Various size images with most some close variation of 4.5" x 2.5". A few small tears, else the images are mostly near fine or better, with a very few captions. A nice vernacular album mostly centered around an Iowa farming community. Images of a rural family, with family images (including a grown man sitting on the lap of his elderly mother), various images from the pig pens, with horses, ducks, chickens, dogs, and rabbits; farmers and their children fishing and posing with their catches, family groups in rustic farm clothing, including groups of children, some with bicycles; several cute babies, a few street images from a small town, a riverboat, families posing with wagons and autos (with Iowa license plates), or in the snow. Another shows a uniformed soldier, presumably in the early days of the run-up to the American involvement in WWI. Pleasing and expressive images of a rural Iowa family and their extended community.
