This epitome of Classical Geography is from the 'Pinnock's' series, constructed by William Pinnock, a schoolmaster turned bookseller. He started publishing cheap educational works, including abridged editions of Goldsmith's histories of England, Rome, and Greece. With a folding map frontispiece and eight folding map plates. There introductory chapter regards the history of the progress made by the ancients in Geography and Astronomy before Taylor delves into each area individually, for example Europe, Gallia, Dacia, Hispania and Magna Graecia. This work is composed in an accessible manner, as stated to the preface 'it is an humble effort to simplify a part of classical education that has hitherto been (at least in Ireland) too much neglected.'
