Very slight bumping to upper tip of spine. Otherwise, apart from a few pages with very slight marginal soiling or creasing, a very good copy - clean, bright and unmarked - of this scarce history / genealogy. OCLC (No. 42787942) locates only six copies at institutions worldwide. ~SP11~ [2.5P] A history of many settlers of the Jackson Purchase, as told by the cemetery where many are buried atop a peaceful hill in Western Kentucky - an important volume for the historian or genealogy researcher. The date of the first marked burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery is 1835, only 17 years after the land was purchased by the Chickasaw Indians. The Jackson Purchase, also known as the Purchase Region or simply the Purchase, is a region in the U.S. state of Kentucky bounded by the Mississippi River to the west, the Ohio River to the north, and Tennessee River to the east. Although officially part of Kentucky at its statehood in 1792, the land did not come under definitive U.S. control until 1818, when Andrew Jackson purchased it from the Chickasaws. Thoroughly indexed. Buchnummer des Verkäufers SP11-0281-8677
