Poems, By Samuel Rogers, Edward Moxon, London, 1846, 316 pp, 3/4 leather, 7 x 4.5 , 12mo. In good condition. Light wear to extremities. Spine has discolored from sun exposure. Leather intended to be a cobalt blue, but have faded into a darker green. Marbled boards are lightly scuffed along the surface. Rubbing along hinges and tips. Five raised band with decorative gilt lyres at each compartment. Gilt top edge. Marbled end papers are fresh and clean. Some light, splotchy foxing towards front and rear of textblock. Tissue guard intact at frontis. Light toning throughout. Binding tight and intact. Please see photos. Samuel Rogers (1763-1855) was an English poet, during his lifetime one of the most celebrated, although his fame has long since been eclipsed by his Romantic colleagues and friends Wordsworth, Coleridge and Byron.
