Bostwick, an American polo player and world-class steeplechase rider who won the U.S. Open Polo Championship trophy six times ? twice at Bostwick Field; activities of the Bethpage Polo Club including players and awards; the Fairfield Country Hunt Club, including history, players and recent matches; 1947 handicaps; the pony?s job in a match; he top three handicap-rated poloists in the U.S. at the time ? Michael G. Phipps, Stewart B. Iglehart and Cecil Smith; and field rules and penalties. Images of Bostwick, Thomas Hitchcock, Jr, Walter Devereux (who built the Hotel Coronado), actress Gene Tierney presenting awards, and many other accomplished players.
