Peter Nicholson was a self-taught architect and mathematician who published a good deal in his life and made several substantial contributions to the building trade by applying mathematical skills to the needs of the trade. His texts are still pertinent and his work, quite striking. This particular text has extensive foxing and discoloration due to age; writing and bookplate inside front: pencil markings on front facing; and an amazing amount of plates, all intact. There are 42 all told taken from the 1795 text.The hinges are starting to split with the front split up about 3 from the bottom and an inch from the top; the back has about an inch split at the bottom and a little longer than that at the top.
