Inhaltsangabe
Presents current knowledge on the evaluation and design of in situ chemical oxidation systems with a focus on the use of potassium and sodium permanganate for remediation of organically contaminated sites. The eight chapters describe reaction stoichiometry, mechanisms, kinetics, methods of implementation, the effects of permanganate on the behavior of metals, the potential for permeability loss, and optional methods of oxidant delivery. Five field tests assess delivery of the permanganate through well recirculation, deep soil mixing, multipoint injection, and hydraulic fracturing. Annotation c.
