Coloured pictorial paper-covered boards. 13 chromolithographic plates (includes frontis.), plus some 26 full-page wood-engraved or duotone plates, and numerous half- (and smaller) page illustrations. All of the chromolithographic plates possess a particularly attractive quality, the colours being at once rich and having a softly applied appearance. Fore-corners bumped and worn, spine extremities worn, small loss of material covering of spine near bottom, boards somewhat rubbed, free endpapers foxed.
