Project Management for the Advanced Practice Nurse will be the first resource to provide the basics project management for graduate-level nurses and students, with practical examples and tips. The core of this need is that APNs are integrally involved in improving systems and care, and implementing change in complex medical systems. This requires a fundamental knowledge of project management, with guidance on how to use these skills to introduce true, lasting change.
The text will cover the skills and tools needed to better function in the management of a complex work environment. The concepts, tools, processes and terminology in this text will be designed to be comprehensive in that the explanation of terms used will also be defined in in ways they will be encountered in the business world of project management.

Carolyn Sipes, PhD, CNS, APN, PMP, RN-BC is an Associate Professor at Chamberlain College of Nursing and President and C EO of the Center for EHR Program Management. She received her PhD from Rush University Medical Center, and her MSN and BSN from Northern Illinois University, USA. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and has vast experience working as a consultant with large institutions to improve efficiency and care through her expertise as a project manager. She presently teaches in the Nursing Informatics specialty at Chamberlain, and has worked previously at Walden University, Rush University, University of Phoenix, and Regis University, with a focus on Nursing Informatics and the integration of technology into the workplace. She has contributed to a number of resources and presented on the topic of informatics.
