A very clean copy with minor stains. This is a very rare edition, with only a single copy located in the US. William Whately was a Puritan preacher who lived in England during the 17th century. He was born in Banbury, Oxfordshire in 1583 and studied at Magdalen College, Oxford. He became a pastor in Banbury in 1605 and later served as a minister in Banbury and then Deddington. Whately was known for his passionate preaching style and his emphasis on the importance of living a virtuous life in accordance with biblical teachings.
