A collection of proverbs by the German-born Baptist missionary, influenced by the work of Walter Rauschenbusch, who spent a length of time before the war in Cameroon, and who died of Blackwater fever in 1935. A scarce book in the series, only in print for 4 years, when the number 505 being superceded in 1928 by Anna Louise Strong's New Lives for Old in Today's Russia. A hint of fading to wraps else fine.
