German philosopher Christian Wolff's Psychologia empirica is one of the first works about empirical psychology. Wolff (1745-1754) was regarded as the most eminent German philosopher between Leibniz and Kant. His main achievement was a complete oeuvre on almost every scholarly subject of his time, displayed and unfolded according to his demonstrative-deductive, mathematical method, which perhaps represents the peak of Enlightenment rationality in Germany. 2nd edition (?), printed in Frankfurt. Condition somewhat poor. Hardcover, spine missing. Plain covers are stained. All pages are in the book and are perfectly readable. Some foxing. Last twenty pages or so have severely frayed margins.
