What is the connection between a plant accepting its death and a soldier’s recollection of a battle? Where is the similarity between the thoughts a tree has about itself and a lover’s loss? What is the correlation between the fall of a dragon and two young boys learning to fish? What is the question that is asked by both a farmer and a young girl facing a monster? Puffs is a collection of short tales in a free style of writing. Each tells the story of characters both animate and inanimate. Each character comes to a very different conclusion about themselves and about life.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Horace Lackey is a native of the Mid-West. At age twenty-seven, he began his career as a Social Worker/Therapist. Shortly thereafter, he practiced and taught yoga as an avocation. When his children were very young, he wrote short stories and fables for them. As a grandfather, he started writing poetry. Horace’s philosophy is that authors should not be confused with what they write. The two may be quite different. Nor should they be considered anything special because of their writing. As authors may tell you, people they have known, or situations and books they have read influenced them. For the most part what they write appears to come through them rather than from them. There have been many writers and other people who have influenced Horace’s thinking and conclusions about life. The one person most influential was his grandfather whom he was named after. That influence grew from their genuine fondness for each other.
