What if Q got bored and decided to make things even worse than usual. The answer, naturally, is chaos, smug commentary, and Starfleet officers developing new and exciting levels of tension in their shoulders. Greg Cox takes everyone?s favourite cosmic nuisance and lets him off the leash in a multi-Q extravaganza. One Q is bad enough. Several Qs, all with opinions, grudges, and zero sense of proportion, is exactly the sort of problem that makes captains rethink their life choices. Expect reality bending, civilisations wobbling, and the general sense that the cosmos is being run by beings who treat cause and effect as vague suggestions. This particular copy arrives courtesy of Crappy Old Books, which means it has already survived at least one timeline. The cover may show light shelf wear, the odd scuff, or the gentle fading that says it has spent some time contemplating existence on a windowsill. The spine is probably creased in a few places, indicating a previous reader reached one of Q?s grand pronouncements, muttered oh come on, and kept going anyway. Corners might be a little rounded, as though they have brushed up against alternate realities and one too many backpacks. Inside, however, the words remain perfectly serviceable and all the Q-related torment is intact. No chapters are missing, no plot holes are due to lost pages, and the dialogue remains as sharp as Q?s dress sense. Buying Q-Strike Used from Crappy Old Books comes with some very on-brand irony. You are reading about beings who can snap their fingers and conjure anything, in a book that is gloriously non-conjured and very much second-hand. The Q Continuum may have infinite resources, but you are out here supporting the economy by adopting slightly worn paperbacks. Honestly, that is probably the most rebellious thing you can do in a universe run by omnipotent tricksters. Perfect for Star Trek fans who enjoy: ? Watching Q annoy authority figures across multiple starships and timelines ? Plots where reality itself needs a safety briefing ?
