Révolution de l'Amérique par M. L Abbe Raynal, Chez Guillaume Wilson, A Dublin, 1781, headpiece & fin illustrations, 131 pp, half leather, 9 x 5.5 , 8vo. In fair condition. Front and rear boards detached. Binding copy. Moderate wear to extremities with heavy scuffing along edges. Tips abraded and worn to the board. Minor abrasions to surface of marbled wrappers. Wrappers toned and soiled. Spine perished, very worn. Free of known marginalia or ownership. Internally good with light toning throughout. A few instances of staining. Binding tight and intact. Please see photos. One of several unauthorized versions printed in 1781 and probably, as the others, with a false imprint. Likely printed in Geneva. Raynal is one of the first to write about the American Revolution in 1776. The book was forbidden in Sweden and confiscated by Swedish authorities.
