4pp. Folio. Paper wrappers. British Parliamentary Paper HC154. The London Fever Hospital was founded in 1802 by Sir Thomas Bernard at Grays Inn Lane. It had 15 beds and admitted 550 patients in its first two years. Typhus was the main disease treated, but smallpox and scarlet fever were also promionent. Bernard gives evidence. Bernard, a co-originator of the Royal Institution was a prominent social reformer involved in the introducion of vaccination, regulation of child labour and Londons Foundling Hospital. A very clean copy. Parliamentary papers of this period are rare. It was not until 1836 that provision was made for their sale to the public. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 128607
