A very scarce copy of this volume comprising recipes written and signed by Georgina Landemare, Sir Winston Churchill's cook from 1940 to 1954. The second impression stated (first 1958). Comprising an introduction by Lady Clementine Churchill and various recipes organised in thirteen categories: soups, fish, eggs, poultry, meat, sauces, salads, vegetables, puddings, savouries, pastes, biscuits, and cakes.Georgina Landemare was Sir Winston Churchill's longest serving cook. She cooked for the Churchills at 10 Downing Street, and her recipes were always met with praise. Landemare and Lady Clementine Churchill formed a particularly close bond, and remained in contact until the latter's death in 1977.Signed by the author.With unclipped dustwrapper. Dedicated and signed by author "to Eileen" dated March 2nd 1963 to front free endpaper. Dustwrapper is unclipped and very smart, with minor shelfwear only. Minor closed tears repaired by previous owner internal to wraps, not affecting cover. Internally, firmly bound.
