An account of Service in the 7th Hussars, including the Battle of Waterloo, copied from the original notes taken by Sir William Verner at the time, by his daughter, Emily Verner, at Tunbridge Wells, January 4th, 1853. William Verner's family was one of many known as 'Planters' who came from Scotland to settle in the north of Ireland in the 17th century, in this case on the estate, Churchill, in the north of County Armagh between Portadown and Dungannon. A staunch supporter of the Orange cause, he died in 1871 and was buried beside other members of his family at Loughgall.
