Four pages of detailed handwritten report.A wonderful first hand account at the height of the Industrial Revolution.Sims details the impressive quality of the engines at Edmonstone Colliery, and lays out two issues with the machines that need to be repaired, and how to go about said repairs.Sims wrote this report in Edinburgh on the 12th June 1850.The report is addressed to Sir John Don-Wauchope, the 8th Baronet, who inherited the title after the death of his father. He was a Captain in the Midlothian Yeomanry Cavalry, and was Chairman of the Board of Education in Scotland. Unbound, as issued. Pages are lightly age-toned, with a couple of light handling marks.
