Hardcover; dark brown embossed cloth. This volume contains two parts (Parts II & III of Volume XII). Part II, "Botanical Report": There are six B&W plates. One of the seven called-for is missing, and they are all bound at the end of the section, rather than at the pages called for. Part III, "Zoological Report": All 47 plates called-for are present. Some of the plates are bound-in at pages other than called for. The eight bird plates are colorized; the others are B&W. The binding is worn and somewhat shaken, but intact. Spine gilt mostly faded. Endpapers and first and last couple pages foxed; else the foxing to the text is not too bad. The plates show foxing to varying degree; a variety of papers has been used for the plates - some more acidic than others. The colorized bird plates show some age-toning, but few foxed spots.
