Resilience After Great Loss - Learning To Live & Grieve Simultaneously

Resilience After Great Loss is a soul-stirring guide for anyone learning to carry grief while still choosing life. In these pages, Eslana Lower reveals that loss does not have to be the end of your story-it can become the beginning of a new chapter marked by courage, healing, and hope. With vulnerability and wisdom, she shares how it's possible to live fully and grieve deeply at the same time. This book will walk beside you through the darkest valleys of loss and gently illuminate a path forward. You will discover that resilience is not about "getting over it," but about honouring your pain, embracing duality, and finding beauty even in broken places. Readers will gain: A roadmap for navigating grief without losing themselves. Practical tools for grounding in gratitude and finding daily strength. Permission to hold both sorrow and joy without guilt. Guidance for creating intentional living after loss. Inspiration to embody resilience and rise with new purpose. More than a book, Resilience After Great Loss is an invitation to breathe again, hope again, and live again. It reminds us that while grief never truly disappears, it can transform-and in that transformation, we discover our strength, our purpose, and our ability to thrive. Foreword Grief is one of the few human experiences that unites us all. It does not only arrive with death. We grieve the end of relationships, the loss of health, the closing of chapters we once thought would last forever. Whether it comes sudden- ly or after a long goodbye, loss reshapes the way we see the world-and ourselves. Yet, for most of us, we are not taught how to carry it. We are told to "move on", "stay strong", or that "it will get easier". But those who have lived with loss learn quickly: it does not simply get easier, no matter how much time passes. Instead, we learn how to live with it-how to weave grief into our days, allowing it to exist alongside love, joy, and even hope. That is why this book matters. Resilience After Great Loss is not simply about survival; it is about the extraordinary cour- age to live and grieve at the same time. Eslana writes from a place few dare to go-with raw truth, tenderness, and unwav- ering love. Her words do not offer quick fixes or simple reassurances, but instead gently remind us that grief is different for everyone, there is no single path through it, and that grief and joy can coexist in the same heart. What you hold in your hands is more than a book. It is a guide, a companion, and a testament to our ability to bend without breaking. Whether you are walking through the darkness of loss right now, or gently preparing yourself for life's storms, you will find in these pages both comfort and courage. As you read, may you discover what Eslana so beautifully embodies: that the presence of grief does not erase joy, that love does not end with loss, and that resilience is not about forgetting-but about remembering with grace. Because grief never leaves us-what changes is our ability to live fully while carrying it. Be gentle with yourself, and remember that grief brings up all forms of emotions-sometimes you may even feel lost, and that too is part of learning to live with loss. - Maddy Suselj - Founder & Director of Believe In U
