Where did the modern beliefs about Jesus come from? What did the earliest Christians believe about Jesus? Did they believe Jesus preexist his humanity? That he was born of a virgin? This book is jam-packed with little-known quotes from early Christianity, quotes from respected biblical scholars, and information on the earliest biblical manuscripts (over 500 reference notes!). Restoring the Biblical Christ: Is Jesus God? documents the earliest beliefs regarding Jesus and how certain "theologically charged" biblical texts have often been mistranslated to promote a corrupted view of Christ. Restoring the Biblical Christ: Is Jesus God? argues that there is one God, the Father (1 Corinthians 8:6), that Jesus was a man (John 8:40) distinct from God (John 7:16-17), but that God revealed himself through Jesus (John 14:10). This position leaves many questions to be answered, like Why does the Bible say Jesus was worshipped? Why is the Word called God in John 1:1? What did Jesus mean when he said, "Before Abraham was, I am"? All of these questions and more are addressed in detail within Restoring the Biblical Christ: Is Jesus God?
