Retreat of the Soul journals the spiritual pilgrimage of a group of ministers from a variety of theological traditions. Their journey parallels their annual retreat to the Abbey of Gethsemani near Bardstown, Kentucky. This collection of writings invites you into their spiritual journey of the soul. Their writing expands the Apostle Paul's encouragement to "pray without ceasing" as the core of the contemplative life.

In these reflections a person will discover how the disciplines of silence, meditation, ritual and nature set the table for personal communion with Christ in prayer. There is a biblical practicality that encourages the awareness of Christ's presence on the daily path. In the midst of the realities of life one needs to retreat to reinvigorate the soul.

Spiritual renewal in worship and a deeper appreciation for the cross of Christ awaits one on every page. Be encouraged to "be still" and hear Christ knocking at the heart's door. He invites all to a Retreat of the Soul in prayer. This book is ideal for a personal spiritual journey. There are also discussion questions that encourage meaningful small group interaction.
