Founded and edited by the great Victorian reform journalist William Thomas Stead, *The Review of Reviews* was the first true tabloid magazine that reached a global audience. A pioneering investigative journalist and feminist, Stead was the first editor to employ female journalists, and accordingly there are many articles from both years that profile the the leading suffragists of the day.
